Bono and company are turning into quite the corporation. U2 will lead the industrial train into the Republic of Ireland by building the first skyscraper there, "The U2 Tower." The band plans to put a studio in the peak of the skyscraper, which will be about 394 feet in the air, a bit shorter than the Empire State Building. Construction begins in 2011 with a pricetag of $284 million.

Can't you picture Bono almost 400 feet in the air, recording the new Spice Girls track circa 2014?

To amp people up for the group's reunion tour, it appears that the Spice Girls may have enlisted the help of Bono. According to British paper The Mirror, Bono will be writing a song for the Spice Girls' forthcoming greatest hits album, which should coincide with the tour.

On Saturday night, MTV held a roundtable forum at the Apollo Theater in Harlem to discuss activism, specifically how to get young people involved. Several big-time musicians and celebrities showed up to help with the cause.

Because I really want to help out MTV, I'm going to offer up a few other suggestions to help get young people into activism. I was recently a young person, and I'm not yet a real man, so they may want to take this advice to heart.

 

Suggestion #1 - Get the cool kids involved, and it will trickle down to everyone else. It worked for Abercrombie, it will work for social activism. With that in mind...

 

Suggestion #1A - Don't hold a roundtable forum on a Saturday night.

Finally, Bono gets something out of this whole "helping Africa" deal. The U2 singer was in Philly yesterday to receive the city's prestigious Liberty Medal for his humanitarian work.

Bono has been speaking out on political and social issues for years, and most recently lashed out at the events happening in Myanmar/Burma.

The U2 front man posted a message about Pavarotti and had some kind words to say about the tenor.

Daniel Lanois, who is producing the next U2 album along with Brian Eno, says that the album is coming together pretty easily.

"Sound" will be released by Visionaire and comes out in December.

Bono has joined the weird celebrity sculpture club alongside Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.

Daniel Lanois, a filmmaker and producer of The Joshua Tree, will include live never-before-seen clips of U2 in his new documentary.
