Canadian/Portugese singer Nelly Furtado broke through in 2001 with her hit single, "I'm Like a Bird." Her latest album, Loose, has spawned five hit singles, including the #1 hit "Say It Right."

The nominees for the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards have been announced. Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Amy Winehouse and Rihanna all did remarkably well.

"Do It" is the fifth single from Nelly Furtado's Loose album.

Nelly Furtado has reportedly gotten engaged to boyfriend Demacio Castellon. Producer and Furtado collaborator Timbaland confirmed to People Magazine that the two were engaged.

Furtado and Castellon -- which I believe is Spanish for "lucky bastard" -- met in 2005. Congratulations to both of them.

[We need a word that means the opposite of congratulations, so we have something to say to other guys whenever a hot chick is taken off their market. "Oh, your friend Sarah got engaged? Discongratulations, man... she was hot."]
