The Eagles Kick Britney's Ass

Remember that controversy over whether The Eagles would sell more albums than Britney Spears?

Well, there's no controversy anymore. The Eagles Long Road Out of Eden kicked the living shit out of Britney's Blackout, and it wasn't even close. The Eagles will debut today with an approximate total of 711,000 albums sold, to Britney's 290,000. That's equivalent to losing a basketball game 100-43, then having the stat girl kick you in the balls.

Billboard decided to change up its policy and allow sales from exclusive retailers to count. A month ago, if you sold your album exclusively at Walmart, the numbers didn't count towards the charts.

"We know that some retailers will be uncomfortable with this policy, but it was inevitable," said Billboard's Director of Charts.

I'm not sure I see the logic there. Why WOULDN'T sales from Walmart count? "Your album is on a shelf next to a giant bottle of detergent? Get the fuck out!" Sorry if some of us like waiting in 40 minute lines to save two dollars; we can't all shop at Mike's House of CDs and Yachts.

The new policy will help a bunch of other Walmart-friendly artists enter the charts this week. In a related story, Jennifer Lopez will be hiding a copy of her new CD in all of Walmart's ten-gallon pretzel jars.

Whoever Books Halftime for the Super Bowl Has No Taste
Granted, Prince's appearance at least year's Super Bowl halftime was a welcomed change of pace to the barf-fest that is the average halftime fare (Aerosmith, ‘N Sync, B Spears, Mary J and Nelly together, wtf?), but now that we've gotten our fill of something decent, we're back to the shitty sounds of none other than The Eagles.

Rumor has it that the aging rock group, which is somehow still recording, will be next year's halftime entertainment and I'm wondering if there's a chance ol' Don Henley will...
The Eagles to Appear at CMA Awards
Now that we've gotten the official word that The Eagles are together, the band has booked an appearance at the upcoming CMA Music Awards. Damn, everybody is so hungry to get a piece of the country pie these days.

The band will most likely perform their latest single, "How Long," which is about as sub-par as you might assume from a 36-year-old band. Oh, they also made a video for that one. Welcome to the hotel boring.
Video: The Eagles
The Eagles have released a video for their new single, "How Long." If you thought the Britney Spears leak today was bad, you ain't seen nothin' yet.
The Eagles Release New Single
The Eagles are back, and good as ever! Which, of course, is not very good.

And word on the street is that it's "state-of-the-art" ... good thing they picked some bands who really know how to utilize technology.
The Eagles: For the Love of God, Please Stop Recording
One of our members, lorik, has put together a fairly solid argument for why the Eagles should just stop and go away. As a matter of fact, we have a hard time disagreeing. Read the argument, and tell us if we're all correct or if we're out of our minds.
