More Bayside News Than You Can Shake a Stick At

Yes! Awesome news out of the Bayside camp. Where shall we start? For one thing, there is a bunch of new Bayside music coming our way this year. First up, The Walking Wounded will be getting re-released as The Gold Edition on July 22nd. While I normally dislike re-releases, I do love this album and it will be coming with live acoustic songs that will be recorded Monday, May 12th at Looney Tunes on Long Island, NY.

If you want to go to that show, check out www.ltcds.com, and do it soon, because there's no way that isn't going to fill up quickly.

Beyond that, the CD will also have a DVD that will feature the full performance, plus a documentary of the band's tours in support of The Walking Wounded, and the videos from the album.

Which brings me to the brand-new video for "Carry On." I saw some behind-the-scenes photos for this one and was looking forward to its debut. It's one of the coolest videos I have seen in a while, in regards to both concept and cinematography.

"I think we know what Bayside is supposed to sound like," explains vocalist/guitarist Anthony Raneri. "We have figured it out and we don't plan on changing the formula. We love what we've become and we can only hope to get better at what we do. We have the most time we've ever had to prepare for this record from the writing process to the recording process but we want to be sure not to overthink the songs and let them sound the way they were meant to sound. It is going to be the fastest, most energetic, catchiest and most exciting record we have ever made. We are feeling youthful and excited as people and I think it is going to come out in the music."
Hell yes. Awesome on every level!

A lot of people are already comparing the video to Cloverfield, but I think that's unfair to Bayside. The video is way better than that letdown of a movie. I watched this video and immediately hit "replay." I left Cloverfield angry at a lack of monster and wanting my money back. See the difference? Good.

And finally, the band will be recording an all-new album this summer. It is already tentatively titled Shudder and Victory has it scheduled for a September 30th release.

Concerning the new album, Anthony Ranieri said,

I think we know what Bayside is supposed to sound like. We have figured it out and we don't plan on changing the formula. We are feeling youthful and excited as people and I think it is going to come out in the music.

So... that's what's going on with Bayside... and it's all good.
