Hello, hello. You know how I know it's Monday? I'm having Coke Zero for breakfast. This means I am tired, so bear with me. Yesterday, I saw the best movie I've seen in ages, and feel obligated to tell you to spend a few hours reading Shoutmouth, then go see Sweeney Todd. It's absolutely gorgeous! If you're a Tim Burton fan [if you're not, hand in your emo card], this movie will more than deliver Tim Burton goodness. And everyone is so beautiful in the movie. One of my new goals in life is to figure out how to make my pin-straight hair curl like Helena Bonham-Carter's. Wish me luck!
Anyway, news.
Across Five Aprils will be giving me a vague birthday present, releasing Life Underwater on February 19th. The album will have 11 songs, and I'm guessing we'll have some MySpace action within a week or so. This is a great band that deserves the exposure signing to Victory will give them -- and I have no doubt this album will be awesome.
The UK is lucky as hell -- Aiden and Kill Hannah will be touring over there together in March and April. Then again, it's probably better that isn't happening here. My head might explode if I saw wiL Francis and Mat Devine back-to-back.
Jack's Mannequin is looking at a late April release for the new album, which is currently called The Glass Passenger.
Reportedly, Jawbreaker played a few songs together, a few months ago. And they recorded it. I'm not sure what this means, if anything, but... this would be a quite welcome reunion. It might be a disaster, but it also might be amazing. Here's hoping we get to hear it, and it's great. That band framed so many great moments in my life when I was younger....
Anyway, on that note -- rock on!
