I woke up this morning to some of the loudest thunder I have ever heard. I think my dog jumped about five feet across the room, before hiding and chewing up a blanket in fear. Ah, those big, tough, "killer" pit bulls. Always ready to fight! Or um, hide and eat your blankets. Either way.
So let's see... I'm starting off with something that makes me very, very happy. Which is a rare emotion for me these days. It's the first clip of the DVD that will be coming out with the re-mastered version of Alkaline Trio's Goddamnit. It's a 1998 performance of "Nose Over Tail" and I will probably watch this at least a few times a day because I have this tendency to get OCD over music:
Here's something I've never been able to figure out: why isn't this band bigger? I know they have a lot of loyal fans and certainly aren't bottom tier or anything, but I feel like they should be huge. Maybe their next album will take them where they should be?
Waiting for a new album from The Hush Sound? Their new offering, Goodbye Blues, should be hitting stores on March 25th.
Hellogoodbye has had a bit of a lineup shakeup: Marcus Cole has left the band. According to a MySpace message, the band said, "has decided to move on and pursue his life in carpentry and / or video game programming, i think. he will live on in all our hearts and dvd players, which i think is where he is represented best. there aren't any hard feelings and it was a very easy and natural decision for all of us." The new bassist's name is Travis and the band is working on some new songs, which they say are "gonna be emo."
Want some free music from Daryl Palumbo and friends, under the name Sports? Click here. I mean, why not? It's free.... I really like it when bands do that. There's no reason to not get the music at that point, and people are willing to take a chance on something new. So what do you think?
Finally, The Cab has put together some home videos to make a video for "I'll Run."
I have to be honest: I have no idea what to make of this:
And on that note, I'm moving along for now. Feel free to discuss amongst yourselves.
