British piano-rock band Keane hopes to brighten children’s days with "The Night Sky." The single, taken from the group’s War Child album, will drop on Oct. 29. Subsequently, on Nov. 1, Keane will host a musical event at Brixton Academy to raise funds and awareness for the work being carried out by War Child, a charity aimed at bettering the lives of children dwelling in conflict-ravaged areas.

Says lead singer Tom Chaplin:

The proceeds from the gig will start War Child on the road towards raising the funds they need to keep their child protection services going in Iraq. In addition, we hope the night itself will draw wider attention to the incredible work War Child does for the children of Iraq as well as children in many other war-torn parts of the world.

So far, the billing also includes indie rock band the Guillemots, synth-pop artists the Pet Shop Boys, and folk-rocker Teddy Thompson. In line with the Nov. 1 concert, Keane will be headlining at the Manchester Apollo on Oct. 31.
