Rumor mongers in Atlanta were going bananas yesterday over a supposed hospital visit by Usher's fiance, Tameka Foster, due to "pregnancy pains."
The New York Post decided to check the veracity of the claims for today's edition with a call to Crawford Long Hospital, where Foster supposedly visited. It was told that no one checked in under her name yesterday. The hospital source did not rule out the possibility that Foster visited, but did not register.
All the speculation about the health of Foster came less than 48 hours after she and the singer broke off their planned wedding in the Hamptons on Saturday.
Sources "close to Usher" have been telling tabloids that he called off the wedding after changing his mind about his mother's involvement in it. Jonetta Patton, the singer's mother and former manager, reportedly does not approve of Foster and was not planning to attend Saturday's ceremony.
Other theories as to cause of the cancellation have begun to take on an almost comic tone with the gleefully over-the-top MediaTakeOut.com claiming that the whole thing is just a "elaborately planned hoax." The Post meanwhile notes a rumor that a National Enquirer story, which ran last week and claimed that Foster has a checkered past, contributed to the sudden postponement.
It remains unclear whether or not Usher and Foster are still a couple.
