Rather, they promote acts of "synchronized predation". I offer sincere apologies to the band for implying -- or rather, boldly stating -- their album cover was all about "beastly sex".

The band sent out the following via MySpace:

Here's an exclusive first look at the album artwork, featuring a scene in which a lion and lioness take down a gazelle in an act of synchronized predation. The album cover was shot by photographer Seth Smoot and designed by David Calderley.

Then again, "synchronized predation" still sounds pretty dirty.

They also released the following about their single/video:

The first single to be released from the album is the twisted love song/ode to Cali "The Heinrich Maneuver." Interpol is teaming up with Elias Merhige --best known for his work with "Shadow of the Vampire" and the cult-classic Nosferatu"-- to shoot the video for this single.
