Obviously, Trent Tomlinson was happy when his single hit the top 10. But what made him the happiest was the bond it provided for him and his father. The song, "One Wing in the Fire," is about Tomlinson's trying relationship with his alcoholic dad.

Tomlinson told The Tennessean that the song helped him and his dad bury the hatchet, after a performance at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Tomlinson's father gave him a standing ovation.

"His biggest punishment in life was seeing what he did and how it affected me and who I am now. It has come full circle. He and Mom have a better relationship now. He rules the roost and she rules the rooster," Tomlinson said.
