Unless you've been under a rock for the last few weeks, you've probably heard the newest phrase to permeate the American vernacular: "Don't Tase Me, Bro!"

Andrew Meyer, the student who evoked images of the Spanish Inquisition with his forceful grilling of John "The Ketchup King" Kerry, was subsequently tasered for his disruptive questioning style. Since the event, many questions have been raised regarding civil liberties, and just how far an American is allowed to go within the confines of "free speech" before someone tasers their ass.

...and like all serious matters dealing with social justice these days, outraged parties took to the streets to protest made hilarious YouTube videos spoofing the plight of Mr. Meyer.

Using the majesty of song, and the immediacy of the "remix", dozens of tracks have appeared around the web. Rather than spending the rest of your afternoon searching the 'net to find out what we're talking about, we've taken the time to assemble the best of these remixes into one convenient place, ranking them based on their informative contribution to society awesomeness, awareness of the larger social issues at hand quality, and proposals for remedying the problem hilarity.

10) "It's Electrifying!" (A Grease-themed parody).

This one is by far the least enjoyable of the bunch. It made this list solely because we still derive joy from watching a grease- coated, leather- clad John Travolta feign a seizure.

Slightly better, but there is still not enough integration of the song and the audio clip.

7) "Official Remix"


This video was made by Meyer's friend Toby Turner. Yep, his friend. I'm not sure about this- I think if someone was your real friend they wouldn't take the man hours necessary to play with footage of you getting half-tasered to death, but who knows. Toby has explained he hopes this remix will help in the goal of raising money for his friend's "legal-defense fund." Riiiight.

Ok, this one has nothing to do with music. It's just freakin hilarious.

 



5) YTMND. (You're the Man Now, Dog!)


The good people at YTMND are hosting a series of short remixes.
They include:

 

5a) Animated 'Go Crazy' Remix, which would make a very annoying-as-hell sweet ringtone.

5b) Animated Ghostbusters Remix. Anything Ghostbusters-related is automatically cool.


5c) Animated Punchout Remix, this is the funniest of the bunch.



4) Piano Remix.

 

This guy decided to add a layer of piano-funk to the party, and despite his blatant disregard for those with epilepsy, this vid is pretty enjoyable.

 

 



3) 'Official Rap Remix'
If this was made by a college student, we'd like to find out what college they go to and personally write a letter to their Dean. This guy definitely had way too much time on his hands.



2) Britney Spears 'Gimme More' Remix


If this was played on the radio, we'd be alright with that. Arguably more enjoyable than the real "Gimme More" track.
