The Spice Ladies' new song has leaked to the Internet. "Headlines" is the token new song off the group's forthcoming Greatest Hits album.
"Headlines" is a ballad. If you had to compare it to an older Spice Girls song, it would probably be closest to "Goodbye" or "2 Become 1." And yet, what separates this song from those -- or any other Spice Girls track -- is the noticeable lack of effort. The group, which was always known for its energy over anything else, really sounds lackluster on this song*. I've definitely heard worse songs, but c'mon, ladies. You're making a billion dollars each off this reunion. Let's show a little hustle.
*It's possible that this is just a poor quality version of the song, in which case I will apologize and pretend to feel bad about calling the song lackluster.
