The pop/rock band The Last Goodnight has been getting a lot of attention lately for its new single, "Pictures of You." This represents a breakthrough for the Connecticut band, which has been recording and touring since the early part of the decade.

"Pictures of You" has cracked the VH1 Top Twenty Countdown (currently at #8) and has also been used for promos of the ABC show "Brothers & Sisters." It also set a world record by getting over 20,000 people to unintentionally click on a video by The Cure on YouTube.

Because of these great accomplishments, I'd like to take this opportunity -- as a Connecticut resident and unofficial spokesperson -- to welcome The Last Goodnight to the Connecticut Hall of Fame. The band, which hails from the town of Enfield, will be joining these other fine Hall of Fame entrants:

-Jim Calhoun/UConn sports

-50 Cent (along with his guns and Segway scooter)

-Mohegan Sun & Foxwoods Casinos

-Toad's Place in New Haven

-Hula Hank's bar

-Mystic Pizza

-The Windsor Locks Airport

-Danbury's Famous "Crack House District"

-The Waterbury Open, as referenced in Happy Gilmore

-Jesus H. Christ and the Four Hornsmen of the Apocalypse

-John Mayer (for his work in the field of dating Jessica Simpson)

-Derek & the Funbags, CT's most popular cover band

-The guy who ran for office using the campaign that he would let liquor stores stay open past 8PM (I forget his name)

-The crazy old lady who wanders around Norwalk looking for cans to return

-The one guy who lived in Bridgeport for two years and didn't get shot

-All rich people

-Anyone with Lyme Disease

Congratulations, The Last Goodnight, and welcome to this prestigious club.
