2007 was a horrible year for me, personally. It was also a great year for musical releases. We dealt with a lot of bands breaking up, bands getting their trailers/equipment stolen, and the shocking deaths of Casey Calvert and Pat Mason. We had to deal with pop stars dominating the media, and Ashlee Simpson invaded our realm with reckless abandon.
Here's hoping 2008 is full of great music, less drama, and overall, awesome for all of us.
Here's the last news of the year:
Enjoy the drama: You can hear clips from the new album from the Audition here. The band has already issued statements about feedback, and has released an extended clip of the single "Basbhat" via AbsolutePunk.net, which you can hear here.
...Should be interesting.
Meanwhile, in BWAHAHAHAHHA news, Pete Wentz will be on the cover of the next Cosmogirl! magazine.
Apparently, he does not believe girls need to cake on makeup to be hot. I wonder if he explains why he wears eyeliner... or if they ask him about -- oh - hahaha - guyliner -- in this extremely groundbreaking interview.
The photo for the cover makes me laugh, but I am not sure why. Is this a sign that Pete has "jumped the shark" for me? Have I moved on to Max Bemis, after total Pete media saturation? Am I just ashamed to have a massive thing for someone on the cover of Cosmgirl! Will I recover from this tomorrow?
I'm... not sure.
Anyway....
Things really are slow in the world of news, as most bands actually have taken some time off. So! Let me take this space to say happy new year to all of you, especially the people who have stayed with us since launch. It means a lot.
We have a lot of great things planned for the site in 2008, and I'm really looking forward to implementing them. Meanwhile, be safe tonight and I'll see you next year. Ugh, I just used the worst joke that anyone can make this time of year. Sorry!
Happy new year!
I love you guys....
