In addition to the b-sides, singer Brandon Flowers has said he expects to have some remixes and possibly even some all-new songs on the collection.
Speaking to the NME about the collection -- which will include b-sides to singles from both Hot Fuss and Sam's Town -- Brandon said:
We've just got a lot of good songs, so we're just slowly going to grind everyone down until they admit we can do pop better than anyone else. I think we're going to do some new songs to go on there.
Aww, how humble! Of course, Brandon's ego is part of the band's charm, isn't it?
The band will also be doing a Christmas charity single for the benefit of RED, the AIDS charity. The song is, interestingly enough, called "Don't Shoot Me, Santa" and now marks a tradition of the band releasing a Christmas single, as they did "A Great Big Sled" last year. I wonder if Brandon is also a fan of the movie Silent Night, Deadly Night -- because I'm not sure how else one would come up with that song title.
Note: yes, I know that santa is an axe murderer, it's one of my favorite movies. It was just the best violent santa reference I could think of.
