Fans of Swedish dance-pop band ABBA will be ‘thanking the group for the music’ when the deluxe edition of its 1977 watershed album drops on Oct. 15, 2007. They’ll also be grateful to see and hear more of the disco divos and divas by way of audio and visual extras, including six bonus tracks, rarely seen performances, vintage interviews, news reports, commercials, and a booklet (or should I say, "novella?") containing a 5,300-word essay by ABBA historian Carl Magnus Palm. It looks as though The Album promises to be a comprehensive collection – or collector’s item.
Indeed, Mr. Palm’s essay would seem to be rivaled by the visual impact of the track list’s verbiage:
