When T.I. got arrested for treating his gun dealer like a Costco, we knew he was going to be in some serious trouble. But if 50 Cent is correct, then T.I. could be headed for a very, very long jail sentence.
MTV caught up with 50 on the set of his new video for "I'll Still Kill." 50 said of T.I.:
If he gets 10 years, that ain't bad. [If it was me,] I would have to tell the people I did it and sit down for a minute.
I don't know the real facts. Maybe he didn't do it; let's keep our fingers crossed.
Am I the only one who thinks it's funny that 50 Cent is giving these quotes while shooting a video for a song called "I'll Still Kill?"
MTV also spoke with Akon, who convenietly sings the hook on "I'll Still Kill." Akon had a slightly different perspective than 50. He said:
It's obvious he was set up. But sometimes when you're in a position of that stature and you're that big... You have to have people around you to let you know or avoid that energy. Even if he was a [gun] collector, naturally, you get a license to collect... He don't need to protect himself. You hire legitimate law enforcement, or you hire people who are licensed to carry [guns].
They're gonna try to railroad him. I'm hoping he has a great legal team. If not, I'll refer one to him.
We're not taking this "T.I. was a gun collector" defense seriously, are we? Is he a silencer collector too? Between this and the blaming bloggers thing, it seems like someone is grasping for straws.
You know what? I don't care that T.I. was forming his own army. I don't care that he treats the second amendment the same way a fat guy treats the Old Country Buffet. I don't care that he promotes bad stereotypes about rappers, or that he hasn't left behind the thug-life mentality, or that he possibly was going to murder someone. I'm just disappointed T.I. is facing punishment at all. I thought he was rich!! Where is the posse member willing to take the fall? Where, dammit?!? It seems T.I. isn't as big of a star as I thought. And that means I'm out of touch. And that is what really hurts.
