One-third of the freshly invigorated LOX, Styles P, had a show in Sheffield, England cancelled last night after club owners got a warning from the local police.
"They simply recommended it did not go ahead. They must have been concerned about something as they would not say this without reason," Mark Huntley, the owner of nightclub Corporation told Sheffield's local paper, The Star. "For them to say something is rare, but they must have received some sort of intelligence."
The show had been expected to go on in front of an audience of about 300.
A police spokesperson told the newspaper that the department did offer advice on the show, but did not order a cancellation.
Ticket holders were told to search out refunds at their point of purchase.
Well, that's mysterious. Almost as mysterious as the existence of an audience for Styles P in England. It's worth noting that Sheffield is the hometown of British indie rockers Arctic Monkeys, whose sophomore album dropped in the states yesterday. I think as a music website we're required by law to point that out.
