The Spice Girls are making a big announcement later this week, and it is expected the group will reveal plans for a reunion tour. According to a British website called Daily Mail, the Spice Girls will be using special voice-enhancing technology when they perform onstage.
An "industry insider" explains how the technology works:
As they sing, the computer program corrects the mistakes so that the sound comes out as the desired sound - so they appear to be able to sing really well live.
The Daily Mail says that Posh Spice (a.k.a. Victoria Beckham) will especially need this technology, thanks to her weak singing voice. Coincidentally, Posh Spice is also the hottest Spice Girl. Funny how that works.
The Spice Girls are scheduled to perform next weekend at the Princess Diana tribute concert, so they'll have a chance to test out this equipment soon.
I just can't believe... I mean, this totally destroys the Spice Girls' credibility. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to listen to them sing "zig-a-zig-ah" again without getting the feeling that it's somehow not meaningful.
(PS - Ginger Spice looks terrible now. Check it. )
