Simon Cowell talks too much. Although that's certainly not any sort of newsflash, he came on a little strong the other day when he spoke with Anderson Cooper for Sunday's episode of "60 Minutes." Normally I think this guy is a complete and total joke, but dissing on the Boss is a no fly zone here at Shoutmouth.
To his credit, Cooper does sort of trap him into making an absurd statement and, as usual, Cowell is more than willing to oblige.
"I sell more records than Bruce Springsteen," Cowell said. While that was the official quote, the two were merely speaking in numbers. Still, Cowell never drops his smug tone.
He continued: "In the last five years, I've probably sold over 100 million records," Cowell says. "If [Springsteen] got 100 [million dollars], I should have got 500."
Somewhere in New Jersey, a big burly guy is rounding up a bunch of overly muscular goons for a trip to L.A.
