Shania Twain made her first public appearance in a while at last night's Academy of Country Music Awards ceremony in Las Vegas. Why now?
Twain is breaking back into the public eye because she will have a new album out in 2008 and is currently writing songs in preparation.
Twain talked to GAC about it:
"Right now I'm in a very serious songwriting mode, so I'm focusing a lot on that, doing a lot of soul searching. That's consuming a lot of my time right now," she said.
Twain added that she doesn't know where she'll record the album just yet but she is currently putting together demos while writing.
It has been five years since Twain released her last album, which was 2002's Up!.
