For whatever reason, people find the way Sarah Palin talks to be hilarious. After hearing GWB stumble over words for 8 years, realizing that Obama has a tendency to say things that are just... well... stupid, and the clear signs of onset senility in the living artifact known as McCain, you'd think a dialect common to many Americans would be just barely baseline in terms of comedic value.
But you can't discount the efforts Tina Fey put forth in her recent appearance on SNL. Tina Fey, the unfunny ex-lead writer for SNL and reason for the decline in Amy Pohler's comedic virtue, created a caricature of the VP nominee for her guest appearance on the show.
And before you start to think I'm just a crazy right-wing nut defending Palin, I will tell you that I won't find tragedy in a victory for McCain or Obama as long as Tina Fey stops making movies and TV shows. I'm not a republican or a democrat (no capitalization deserved). I care far more about comedy than I do about the election.
But back to the point at hand, the supposedly "zany and crazy" way that Palin talks has gotten some people to take her comments and turn them into ringtones. Humorous? Not really. Stupid? Very.
"Man, that Palin, she annoys me every time she opens her mouth, crazy conservative... I'm going to make her my ring tone so I hear her every time my phone rings."
Good idea, while you're at it can you get me the nails on a chalk board ring tone?
But in the end, isn't that what a phone is all about? Being somewhat annoyed at the sound of it because you'd rather just finishing reading your book than answer the phone every 5 minutes.
