Shut ‘em down, open up shop.  Words of wisdom we can all live by.  DMX is truly a sage to be listened to for generations.  Probably his biggest hit to date, the Ruff Riders’ Anthem, is also his most popular ringtone.

Even a decade after his single it’s still on the mobile charts.  The Ruff Riders’ Anthem Ringtone is coming in at number 32 as of writing.

Who doesn’t remember when they were young, listening to hip hop, and wishing they could be rollin with the Ruff Riders.  Seriously, style and awareness for our nation’s history?  Teddy would be proud.

The name Ruff Riders, if you’re not familiar, can be traced back to the Rough Riders.  First led by Colonel Leonard Wood, this volunteer cavalry had to go it on foot despite that fact that a cavalry traditionally travels by horse.  The torch was passed to Roosevelt and they became famous as Roosevelt’s Rough Riders.  Clearly, DMX’s group has a good respect for their nation’s history.  Either that or he was unaware that the name was already used before.  Who knows.  The Ruff Rider’s Anthem still makes a good ringtone.
