Because the band (apparently) isn't eligible for "real charts," they'll have to settle with downloads in the 1.2 million neighborhood. I'm sure they're just fine with that. As reported, those numbers put Radiohead close to the $10 million mark.
The Radiohead site, At Ease Web, has also said that Radiohead calculations on iTunes/iPod usage on Last.fm put Radiohead in the top spot this week: "All in all Radiohead have took over the top artists spot from The Beatles with a total of 118,836 people playing 3,308,175 Radiohead tracks in the past week."
In other news from At Ease, BBC Radio 4 is broadcasting a play based on OK Computer tomorrow: "The play by Joel Horwood, Chris Perkins, Al Smith and Chris Thorpe tells the story of a man who wakes up in a hospital in Berlin. He has no memory of who he is, or where he comes from. Once the details of his life are recovered, he is repatriated to Britain and into his former life. But he is haunted by the suspicion that this is not his real life at all."
You can listen here from 4 to 5 PM Eastern and complete three weeks of Radiohead overkill.
