Okay, that may be over-stating it, but they're poised for something. Meet The Innocent. Featuring Brandan Schieppati of Bleeding Through, Brooks Wackerman of Bad Religion, Ryan Sinn of The Distillers/Angels and Airwaves, and Dave Nassie of No Use For A Name, the band popped up on MySpace about a week ago with three demos and just like that, we have a new band to watch. It's not quite what you'd expect....
You can check out the band's first three songs here, on their MySpace.
I'm, personally, feeling "Zombie Apocalypse" the most, but as it goes, I'm a pretty big fan of zombies on the whole, so it just feels right.
The band will be releasing an album sometime this autumn, though there is no specific date set as of this writing. The band's MySpace has some flowery language press release stuff that basically says they all came together to help bring thrash metal back, following the re-emergence of "grinding death metal." And I can't say they're doing a bad job of it.
Good stuff. The Innocent is definitely a band to watch. Though I can't help but wonder, with all the stupid band names in the world, how such a simple and obvious name wasn't already taken when these guys came together....
