It is believed the postponement is due to issues with the court, rather than any requests from Pete Doherty or his representatives. The judge has said Pete will be sentenced to community service or prison, depending on reports from the doctors at his rehabilitation center.
Friends of Doherty have spoken to the press and say he has been clean and sober for six weeks now, which should help contribute to a lenient sentence.
However, nobody knows if his other legal troubles will affect the court's decision in any way. Of particular concern are the assault charges and the additional drug charges that he has been slapped with over the past few months.
