The singer revealed he was given a guest role on the long-running television show because he's been "begging forever and they just let [him] do it." Fame has its privileges, I guess. Patrick's episode airs in February, and there are no details as to what sort of role he'll be playing. Meanwhile, the producers of 'Law & Order' had best be preparing for an influx of 14-year-old viewers... for that one night.

Speaking of 14-year-olds, if only Patrick had a role on "Law & Order: SVU," he could have had the obligatory "sexual predator"/"pedophile" role that is popular with celebrities on that series. [See: Martin Short.] I wonder if they'll make him take his hat off for the role....

In other news, Patrick has been talking about the next Fall Out Boy album, and is using words like "bizarre," "different directions," "weird," and "experimental." I'm officially scared. Wasn't Infinity on High experimental and bizarre enough? [I'm sorry, I just can't abide by some of the really R&B sounding songs.] That said, Patrick may have calmed me down a bit, adding, "There'll be some weird stuff, but at the end of the day, it's probably just gonna be a pop record."

The album isn't coming any time soon, either way. Patrick said he knows the band is ready to record when he gets urgent pangs that command him to head to the studio, and he isn't having them yet. Seeing as Infinity on High isn't even a year old, I can see why it doesn't feel all that pressing. That said, a new song on a soundtrack or compilation might be nice, since the album has already spawned five singles and might be about done to that end.
