Andy Williams is a singing legend who bears a striking resemblance to "The Price is Right" host Bob Barker, and he, for some reason [senility?], decided to discuss his past -- when he ate dog food and thought it "wasn't bad."
Andy Williams told Contact Music, he wasn't always rich: "At one point I was eating Alpo dog food, dividing the cans between my dog and myself. It didn't taste that bad when you heated it up, actually, just like meat and gravy, although I expect it was made from horse or something."
I'd like to add there was absolutely no context for this quote.
Here's something confusing about this. As anyone with a dog can tell you, dog food isn't cheap. There are myriad human food options that are much more affordable and less disgusting. Granted, this happened before the godsend that is Ramen was available, but what about canned beans? Tuna fish? Things like that? Dude was not thinking straight. Probably from all that dog food he was eating when he clearly didn't have to be.
Judging by the photo, though, should he hit upon hard times again, I have a great idea for him: he'd be an excellent dog food spokesman, what with that shiny hair and those bright, strong teeth he has.
By the way, here's some information on just just who in the hell this guy is.
This article is dedicated to TomZ, who pretty much forced me to write it.
