The Canadian band Nickelback is one of the most polarizing groups of this generation. Despite their many critics, Nickelback has sold millions and millions of albums, and produced dozens of hit songs. In fact, Nickelback's latest album, All The Right Reasons, had more #1 hit singles than non-#1 hit singles (the album had seven #1 songs, out of 11 tracks total).
The band gained mainstream attention in 2000 with hits like "Leader of Men" and "Breathe." However, it wasn't until the mega-hit "How You Remind Me" in 2001 that Nickelback came to be regarded as one of the biggest acts in the world. With this rise to success came controversy, as many critics claimed Nickelback's songs all sounded very similar. Someone even set up a website showing that two Nickelback hits, "How You Remind Me" and "Someday" were nearly identical. It was later proven that this website doctored the songs to make them sound more alike. It was also proven that whatever guy went out of his way to set up an anti-Nickelback website had way too much time on his hands.
