It's that day you've all been waiting for... new music Tuesday. We have a few highly-anticipated releases this week, as well as some surprise last minute additions. What will you be spending your money on, and what will you be ignoring?
- Panic At The Disco - Pretty.Odd
Can the band pull it off now that they've lost their !? Will the Beatles-esque new sound please the band's die-hard fans? Do they actually need a porno mime stage show for success? Time will tell....
- The Racounteurs - Consolers of the Lonely
The album was announced last week, and the band made sure no copies went to radio, the press, or anyone. I'm pretty sure Jack White's mom gets a first listen today as well. Will the album be a success?
- Pennywise -A Reason to Believe
Pennywise is back... but are they better than ever?
- Morrissey - Greatest Hits [2x CD]
I always wonder why they release greatest hits CDs for people who have cult-like followings that almost surpass Jesus Christ, but I guess they sell. Isn't this the 10th Morrissey "Greatest Hits," though?
In brief, Foxboro Hot Tubs have a new 7" out today [if you're into antiquated formats, you're set], there's a Joy Division DVD out that I quite need, and that's about it. Should be interesting to see if Panic At The Disco, who have been promoting their butts off for a couple of months, can outsell The Raconteurs, who just said, "hi, here's an album, enjoy." It should also be interesting to see who sells more long-term, as well.
And there you have it -- that's what you can find in stores or on iTunes or wherever it is you get music today.
