Today’s hottest ringtone is one the most hilariously named song I’ve heard in a while, and it doesn’t seem like it was done like on purpose.  It is, perhaps, the most obvious title I’ve ever heard.

There is no subtly in Clarkson’s music, but that’s probably the reason why she’s so popular.  12 year old girls have trouble with allusion and metaphor.  Really, though, who would even try to create an 80s style techno-pop romp with lyrics about something that actually mattered in a way that is both poetic and deep?

So, you have the My Life Would Suck Without You Ringtone by Kelly Clarkson crushing the charts because it’s exactly what it should be.

I have to hand it to Clarkson, though.  She has her own Youtube channel, which means her people have recognized the potential the medium of web-based video has to offer.  No long, drawn out battles will take place between her and her staff trying to get all their music videos off the servers.  The My Life Would Suck Without You Ringtone is sure to be even more popular because people can hear the entire song before they purchase it.
