A little while back we got word that Missy Elliott would be lending her celebrity to Doritos' new Collision brand for a series of in-the-studio-with-Missy commercials where she'd be eating the chips. We thought it was questionable then and we think it's questionable now. Or just kind of hilarious.
See, something is off. Maybe the whole thing is off? Nah, "it's the bounce":
Not only do the lines come across hilariously awkward, but the video is a total snooze fest that doesn't really even make sense. Also, is that guy supposed to look like Timbaland? Because that's just really stupid. And, country? What just happened?
Really, I just feel confused after watching that. I thought this was supposed to be something about mashups? Oh, speaking of mashups (remember those?), the company is having a mashup contest on its incredibly annoying site.
Well, I'm done with that. Missy has also been working on her seventh studio album, The Countdown, with DJ Toomp and Rich Harrison. I'm hoping for great things from Rich Harrison, whom you might remember as the producer for Beyonce's "Crazy in Love" and the similarly awesome Amerie song, "1 Thing."
