But that doesn't stop them from updating their official Web site. And they're so very interesting! Updating fans on their new album, they said, "The big update is... that there is nothing new to report. Things are, as you would call it, status quo, consistent, constant, invariable, unaltered, unchanged, unfailing, uniform, unvarying." Wow. Sounds like that album is going to kick so much ass. I wonder what file sharing service they'll sue to drum up publicity for the follow-up to the much-beloved *cough* St. Anger.
They added:

Chit chat? Seriously? That's not very metal.
I bet being friends with the guys in Metallica really sucks. I figure it's like being friends with a teenage girl, the sort who likes to use the phone and just calls you randomly, even though she has nothing to say. You know the call... the phone rings, you answer, say, "what's up?" and they say, "nothing...." and it just sort of goes from there. And you're spending the whole call trying to figure out why they called and how to get off the phone. You ultimately end up knocking on your own door, claim you have to answer it and will give her a call soon. Yep. That's what it is like to be friends with Metallica.
If they ever pull the "hey, call us" stunt that Megadeth did, I'd be cautious about calling, because they'd probably answer....
