After willing myself out of bed Saturday "morning," I caught some great shows -- including a thrasher from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Cold War Kids
Holy crap. I had no idea that so many people knew who they were. Maybe it was because they were playing a side stage, but it seemed like everybody at Lollapalooza was watching this show. Couldn't see or hear too well...
STS9 (Sound Tribe Sector Nine)
...so I skipped on over to Sound Tribe to check out their melodic grooves. Also, I wanted to see old hippies and their audience came through with flying colors.
The Roots
As per usual, The Legendary Roots Crew had about 50 people onstage. Their set was a wild one and was comprised of almost all covers.
The Hold Steady
Craig Finn donned his Minnesota Twins jersey and the band was all smiles. I can see why so many of my friends dig these guys and their live sound was a step up from their studio recordings. I'm still not a fan, but, ya know, suum cuique and all that jazz.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
The YYYs show was a full-crowd scene, but no matter -- Karen O was exhilirating. They played tunes from all of their albums, including the new, super-rad Is Is EP.

I ate a hot dog during Spoon.
Interpol
It began to rain during Interpol, so we watched (well, listened) from behind the stage. It sounded really crisp, though, and Carlos D's bass was a poppin'!
