Lindsay Lohan turned herself in to authorities yesterday in relation to a DUI that occurred over Memorial Day weekend. Lohan, whose blood alcohol content was said to have been above the legal limit at the time, crashed her car into a curb and then drove away in another vehicle. Lohan was taken to the hospital for injuries, and then checked into a rehab clinic, where she remained until earlier this week.
The police officially charged Lohan with a DUI before releasing her. A court date has been set for August 24th.
A few days ago, Lohan began wearing an alcohol-monitoring ankle bracelet. How an alcohol-monitoring ankle bracelet works is still a mystery. Also a mystery? How police know Lohan's BAC when she fled the scene of the accident. But it doesn't matter, because regardless of what actually happened, she'll most likely be made an example of, just like Paris Hilton. It's a new addendum to the "Rich Men Don't Go To Jail Theorem," called the "Rich Women Always Get Spited Theorem." On the other hand, it's a great year to be a lesbian in the California prison system.
This also proves that DUI's are still fashionable, despite some people's belief that driving under the influence is "so last spring."
