It's tough to gauge just how well the new Foo Fighters album is doing. Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace received mixed reviews and sold 168,000 copies in its first week (which is good, but not mind-blowing or anything). Even though it's not as omnipresent as a usual Foo Fighters lead single, "The Pretender" reached #1 on both the Mainstream and Modern Rock charts. So it seems like things are going pretty well.
The band will try to keep the ball rolling by releasing a second single off the album in late November. That single will be the song "Long Road to Ruin."
It'll be interesting to see how well "Long Road to Ruin" is received. I like ESP&G, but I definitely think "The Pretender" is the best (and most radio-friendly) song on the album. We'll see what happens. I'd wish Dave Grohl luck, but I don't think he needs it, considering his life is already awesome.
