The Heineken Jammin' Festival, which was held in Imola, Italy on June 15th, had to be cut short when a tornado swept through the area.

Among the bands that had to cancel their sets? Linkin Park, Pearl Jam, My Chemical Romance and the Killers.

Linkin Park has issued the following statement:

We are saddened by the events that happened in Venice today and our hearts are with the injured fans and their families. The Linkin Park family wishes them a speedy recovery and hope to see them the next time we visit Italy.

Likewise, Pearl Jam put out their own statement:

We're told that there are no critical injuries and for that we are grateful. Our hearts and thoughts are with all of you in Venice.

Six towers were knocked over by the tornado's winds, 25 people were injured (nothing major), and assumedly a cow was picked up and blown around in circles.

The showed was called off during a performance by Le Mani, which basically means that fans didn't get to see any big acts. That's a stacked lineup, too, and it's not like these bands can just swing by Italy in a few weeks for a make-up show. Basically, the people at this concert got screwed. I guess this means tornadoes like rap music.
