Amy Winehouse is laughing a deep, soulful laugh somewhere. Lily Allen has been banned from the US after she was stopped at an LA airport, locked in a cell and strip-searched in a five-hour ordeal, according to The Mirror, via NME.
Her visa was canceled in the process. Lily responds:
I want my fans to know that I will do everything I can to be back in America in September. I don't like letting my fans down and this is a situation that I am sure we can sort.
Allen was supposed to fly to Las Vegas for an awards ceremony but US immigration officers supposedly were concerned with her March arrest in London, after she had a spat with a photographer.
No word on how Lily plans to work this out, but she seems confident that she'll still be able to make her September dates in the US.
In other Lily Allen news, Courtney Love has responded to the nasty messages that Lily supposedly sent out to her MySpace friends about Courtney. Lils later said her MySpace had been hacked and apologized for the mixup.
Courtney had this to say:
I wouldn't pick on me if I was Miss Lily, as it wouldn't take TOO much to swat, but we've known each other far too long, like each other far too much and if she was gonna say something nasty she has the acerbic wit and intelligence to say something cutting, that would actually really hurt, not some cliched hoary old chestnut some obsessed blogger would say.
She tells me her MySpace was broken into - even if I REALLY think she did blog it mindlessly some 8am after being up far too long for a young healthy woman I don't care and I appreciate and accept her thoughtfulness for apologizing for what was printed, if she is telling the truth and it really doesn't much matter - everyone slams everyone early in their careers, Kim Gordon still slams me, I mean how much more boring can you get? (than Kim Gordon - slam!) Does anyone care?
Shame on you Kim Gordon. Girl just wants a little drug money and a bit of botox here and there.
