Surprise, surprise, it looks like Lil Wayne's drug-related imprisonment was nothing more than "a little mix-up." Funny, seems like celebrities always find their way into these little mix-ups.
Wayne's lawyer, Stacey Richman, blamed the incident on his previous lawyer, who had apparently told the New Orleans-based rapper that the charges were dismissed. Somehow I feel like this means there wasn't a follow-up call. You'd think if you had Atlanta cops on your tail you'd make damn sure to resolve whatever issues remained, especially after that DJ Drama incident.
The charges Wayne was picked up on stemmed from an August of '06 arrest, where Weezy was found in possession of marijuana and more than 100 Xanax and hydrocodone pills. Dude parties, but maybe he's already done his good deed for the, I don't know, year?
Wayne was freed on $10,000 Saturday evening and will remain free until the district attorney decides on the next move - I recommend Tha Carter II. A new hearing is scheduled for Thursday night.
