If there was ever a year to make headway with a space-inspired image, 2007 is the one. While Daft Punk's biggest fan, Kanye West, was across town winning himself an International Male of the Year award from GQ, Klaxons were picking up this year's Mercury Prize at a ceremony in London.
The intergalactic dudes in Klaxons were able to beat out everyone's favorite drug poster girl, Amy Winehouse to win the coveted prize with their album, Myths of the Near Future.
The band, awarded for their innovation and more specifically for their "ecstatic musical adventure," received $40,000 and bragging rights over their British counterparts.
Amy Winehouse apparently mesmerized judges and attendees with a performance of "Love Is A Losing Game," her latest single.
