Keith Richards has confirmed to Rolling Stone that he did in fact snort his father's ashes, like he told NME earlier in the year.

When the story was first released, Richards' team of publicists claimed he was misquoted, meanwhile NME maintained the accuracy of the quote.

In addition to confirming the quote, Richards has added that he did not use cocaine as a mixer with the ashes.

"The cocaine bit was rubbish. I said I chopped him up like cocaine, not with ... I pulled the lid off [my father's urn] and out comes a bit of dad on the dining room table. I'm going, 'I can't use the brush and dustpan for this'," Richards said.

He added that "ingesting your ancestors is a very respectable way of... y'know, he went down a treat."

No, no we don't know, Keith.

As a reminder, here's the original quote:

The strangest thing I've tried to snort? My father. I snorted my father. He was cremated and I couldn't resist grinding him up with a little bit of blow. My dad wouldn't have cared... It went down pretty well, and I'm still alive.

NME has also graciously, or maybe not so graciously, reposted their entire initial interview with Richards. That can be read right here.

And while we're on the subject, we might as well go ahead and do this:
