Since that whole debate thing isn't going to happen, this is about as close as we're going to get. Kanye West and 50 Cent are scheduled to appear together on BET's "106th & Park" the day their new albums are released, next Tuesday, September 11.
BET is sure to make a huge deal out of this one. In fact, they've already stepped things into high gear by snagging ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith to give viewers stats on each of the two rappers.
Is your mind blown yet? This should be an all out over-hyped event. I know I'm excited.
You're probably sick of hearing about these two albums, but here we go again.
50 will release Curtis, which is already getting some solid reviews (7.5 from AllHipHop.com), and it features production from Timbaland, Dr. Dre and Chris Styles. 50 also claims he'll quit music if Kanye sells more albums than him in the first week the albums are available.
Kanye West releases Graduation the same day and it features production from, well, mainly Kanye, but also DJ Toomp and Eric Hudson. The album's first two singles, "Can't Tell Me Nothing" and "Stronger," have already hit it big with Hype Williams-directed clips. Graduation is also getting early good reviews with a 4.5 out of 5 stars from Rolling Stone.
