Kanye West is turning into a real drama machine just before the release of his next album. The rapper and producer now feels the need to announce that he is still slightly homophobic, despite his efforts to make the rap world more friendly to homosexuals.

"Speaking out against hip-hop homophobia, some people were like 'Oh, Kanye must be gay! Look at the way he's dressing! And why would he speak about it? He's a gay rapper'. And my whole point is, I wouldn't have spoke on that if I was gay or if I was in the closet. I would have stayed so far away from it," said West.

The outspoken rapper was responding to reactions after he said rap was too homophobic. But, he's not championing himself so much as dishing what he feels is the truth. He said it best when talking about his infamous George Bush diss.

"At the time, that's what I had to do. It's almost a character flaw in me to be emotional and honest like that. Sometimes it works out; sometimes it can backfire on you," Kanye said.

And like I said, he's not exactly championing himself here.

"I'm still homophobic myself to a certain extent ... You know, I wouldn't go to a gay parade and feel comfortable. I wouldn't ever go to a gay club or something and just be chillin' and grab a drink," Kanye added.

He said being in the entertainment industry and meeting "so many different gay people who are actually nice people" helped change his mind.
