Despite the fact that they just kicked out their lead singer, Journey got a major bump last week. "Don't Stop Believin'," the group's signature song and 1981 hit, was featured in the finale of "The Sopranos," which Hillary Clinton just parodied for her website.

The bump included iTunes song downloads that went from 1,000 the day before the episode aired, to 6,531 the day after.

To clarify, that means that 1,000 people felt the need to download Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" on a whim, without even having seen the episode. The following day, an additional 5,531 people decided their digital music collections were absolutely incomplete without the track, after having seen the episode. Simply astounding.

Radio airplay of the track increased 192% from last Monday to last Thursday. Thanks to the NYTimes for covering this important story.
