In addition to producing the latest effort from Billy Joe Shaver, John Carter Cash recently penned a biography of his mother, June Carter Cash.
Initially, John was supposed to write only the foreword, but once he agreed to that, Thomas Nelson publishing asked him to write the whole thing. From there, Cash said things became very tedious. He said it was difficult to decide how much detail to hand out.
The Tennessean's Peter Cooper says the book is full of humor and goodwill, but also talks about the turmoil Johnny dealt with.
The book also includes information about June Carter's late-life pill addiction, something John said he was reluctant to write about in a "sensationalist" way.
