Jill Scott has a new album, The Real Thing, coming out on September 25, and an empowering new single out right now called “Hate On Me.” It’s about maintaining self-worth and self-esteem regardless of what others may say or think; and instead of trying to please others, stay true to oneself.
On her website she discusses her inspiration for the new single and how it finally came to be recorded. Explaining that it came from her experience spending an evening reading comments on a Jill Scott hate website.
Her MySpace site is currently hosting a free download of new single, as well as previews of three new tracks from her upcoming album.
