Metallica almost didn't make it to their Live Earth performance. Apparently frontman James Hetfield was held and questioned by security officials at Luton airport, making the band late for its arrival to Wembley Stadium.
According to the Timesonline (scroll to the bottom), friends blamed Hetfield's "Taliban-like beard" for his brief detainment.
