On September 25th, Congress is holding a discussion on rap lyrics, especially use of the words "bitches" and "ho's." The hearing will be called "From Imus to Industry: The Business of Stereotypes and Degradation" and will take a look at the degradation of women in music, primarily rap. Several record executives will appear at the hearing, including Doug Morris of Universal and Master P.

As Dave Chappelle once said, "Could somebody please find Ja Rule so I can make sense of all this?!?!  Help me Ja!!!"

In an interview with Complex Magazine, Ja Rule shared his thoughts on this hearing. Turns out he's not a fan. Not only did Ja bash Congress for ignoring more important issues, but he also threw in a diss on homosexuals.

Here's what Ja had to say (via SOHH):

They got my man Doug Morris under fire and @#!*, they got him going down to go speak to Congress about hip-hop lyrics, are you @#*$ing serious? There's a @#*$ing black kid right now about to get 25 years for having a fight with some white kids over hanging the nooses over the white tree, let's get to that. Let's get into @#!* like that, because that's what's tearing up America, not me calling a woman a @#*$% or a @#* on my rap songs.

And if it is, then we need to go step to Paramount, and @#*$ing MGM, and all of these other mother@#*$ers that's making all of these movies and we need to go step to MTV and Viacom, and lets talk about all these @#*$ing shows that they have on MTV that is promoting homosexuality, that my kids can't watch this @#!*. Dating shows that's showing two guys or two girls in mid afternoon. Let's talk about @#!* like that! If that's not @#*$ing up America, I don't know what is.

There's a lot of issues we can address besides hip-hop, but they want to put everything on us like we're the problem. This is going to be a shameless @#*$ing plug, but I said, 'when everyone wants to point the finger, and ask why there's so much corruption, they only need to look in the mirror.' It starts with themselves.

You leave "Next" out of this, dammit!

Ja Rule may not be the most logical or tolerant man alive, but he does have one good point, that being that Congress has bigger issues to deal with. Here is a list of other issues facing our country, all of which are more pressing than whether a rapper uses the word "ho"...

-The Iraq War

-Gay Marriage

-Healthcare

-Social Security

-Dogfighting

-Steroids

-Whether the New England Patriots should lose draft picks for stealing signals during Sunday's game

-Fixing the potholes in Interstate 95

-Jaywalking

Alright, so pretty much any issue is more important than song lyrics. We go through this once a decade, and it always ends the same way. Doesn't anyone remember the Ice-T "Cop Killer" saga?

Does that mean I'm against this hearing? Not necessarily. It can't hurt to discuss things, as long as none of the Congressmen do anything crazy. And even though it's only a 0.00001% chance, I'm still holding out hope that Charlton Heston will show up and read the lyrics of Eminem's "Kill You" to Congress. "Now he's raping his own mother... abusing a whore... snorting coke... and we gave him the Rolling Stone cover... catchy little number, isn't it?"
