Irony: Name Your Band Strung Out, Get Your Stuff Stolen by Strung Out Losers

Let's face it -- when your van and trailer disappears from the shitty Days Inn in a crappy part of Philadelphia, the people who took it are going to be pretty strung out. I've actually stayed at the Days Inn the band is speaking of, and I assure you, it's not somewhere you want to be stranded. Especially when you know crackheads have stolen pretty much everything you own, in the middle of your tour.

If you're in Philadelphia, or the general area, be on the lookout for the band's fairly distinctive van: It's a light blue ford E 350 15 passenger van with a white trailer with white rims. There is a bull skull mounted on the front of the grill. The band says they don't want to, or plan to, call off their tour, but they also have a lot to figure out.

This sucks so hard... I'm supposed to see these guys on Saturday in NYC, damnit.

The band lost all their equipment, their merchandise, and personal items. They believe the van was stolen around 7:30am because they had looked at it 20 minutes prior and it was fine. Why are people such assholes? This is about the 100th band to get everything they had stolen this year. It's infuritating.

Lovedrug had their van stolen and burned, Driver Side Impact had their van broken into twice, Color Revolt had their van and gear stolen, and Chevelle had their trailer stolen. And that's just some of them.

Look... people know what a touring van looks like. And there are a lot of scumbags in the world. If you're in a band, you can't just assume that your stuff will be safe. Everything you own is in your van and trailer? Get a good alarm system. Get Lo-Jack. Seriously. You're basically driving around with a target painted on your vehicle, as people know they can get good money for your guitars, amps, and other equipment. While it's good that they get the word out on MySpace and the Internet, that's unlikely to find their van and equipment.

Here's hoping this story ends well for Strung Out and they're able to finish their tour, which runs through November 11th and also features I Am Ghost and Evergreen Terrace.
