Florida native, Samuel Beam, who plays his music under the stage name Iron & Wine has signed with UK label Transgressive Records. Transgressive also happens to be the UK home of indie sensations The Shins and the former UK distributor for Regina Spektor. Coupled with artists like these, Iron & Wine sits in pretty prestigious company in the UK. The new addition to the UK label comes just before Iron & Wine’s latest LP The Shepard’s Dog which is scheduled to land on U.S. shelves September 25th. The pre-release single ‘Boy With A Coin’ is now available on Itunes.
The first UK show, following the label change, will be played on August 9, at The Spitz in London, England. Follow this link for the rest of the UK tour dates.
Also, Iron & Wine appeased those who still appreciate the time worn crackle of an old record player, by releasing one of Iron & Wine’s best-known works, The Sea & Rhythm EP on vinyl.
